Our Mission
McKinley Early Childhood Center – Urban proudly serves families in the Akron community by providing high-quality childcare and early education in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. As one of our long-standing McKinley locations, the Urban center has a deep connection to the families and neighborhoods it serves.
This location offers care for infants through Pre-K, with programs designed to support children’s growth socially, emotionally, and academically while preparing them for future success in school and life.
Families at our Urban location enjoy:

- Title XX–approved childcare assistance
- Care for infants, toddlers, preschool, and Pre-K
- Hours of operation: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack included
- Free diapers, wipes, and formula for infants and toddlers
Our dedicated teachers work closely with families to create a consistent, nurturing experience where children feel confident, supported, and ready to learn.

Ms. Jackie
Center Director – Urban
Hello! I’m Ms. Jackie, the Director at our Urban center. I have been working in education for more than twenty years and have been part of the McKinley family for over fifteen of those years, serving both in the classroom and in leadership roles.
My experience allows me to understand the importance of strong educational foundations, supportive relationships, and a positive learning environment. I truly enjoy helping children grow into confident learners and productive members of their community.
It is a privilege to work with the children and families we serve, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of your child’s early learning journey. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your family.
